European Biathlon Champion Evgenia Burtasova said that the experience of 45-year-old Yuri Batmanov’s participation in the PARI Championship of Russia inspires the future.
On Thursday, Batmanov starred in a mixed single with his daughter Anastasia. Representatives of the Sakhalin region took 14th place at the finish line. Burtasov and Daniil Serokhvostov became bronze medalists of the competition, won Victoria Slivko And Yevgeny Garanichev .
– The mono-mixed is more suitable for those who are more stable in turns, who know how to manage the nerves. The conditions were excellent, compared to the pursuit skis which worked perfectly.
– How does it work in tandem with Dani?
– Amazing. He is a good athlete, but a little unstable in turns. He said it was only his second time running this race. He is a very fast athlete, he cannot yet switch quickly after a distance to the line. I think it will come with experience.
– Did the Batmanov surprise you?
– Yes, in general, the best (laughs)! I say to Max (Burtasov, spouse – editor’s note): “Come on, get ready there, maybe we’ll go out too.” They are great comrades. It’s very cool that a father can support his daughter like that.
– They proposed to create family races: father and daughter, husband and wife.
– Oh, that would be interesting, the competition could be cool. Then biathlon will never end with us,” the correspondent said, citing Burtasova.
Later on Thursday, March 30, the Classic Mixed Relay will be held as part of the Russian Championship, the broadcast of the race on the channel will start at 11:40 (MSK). The event will also be broadcast on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
