Biathlete of the national team of the Moscow region Anastasia Goreva admitted that on the finishing lap of the PARI women’s mass start of the Russian championship, she no longer saw the point of fighting.
Goreeva finished fifth with three penalties. The race was won by Irina Kazakevich.
– I’m happy for the race, even if the last frontier didn’t work out. It was necessary to work properly – and it was possible to fight for a medal.
At the finish lap, I didn’t fight any more, I didn’t see the point of it. After the first shot, when I was in seventeenth place, I was sure that I could catch others, because we were doing four lines and there was quite a strong wind. It’s biathlon, there are always chances.
I’m satisfied with this season, I went there regularly, I got in shape with each start. This season has gone well,” Goreeva told Metaratings.ru.
