“At the 32nd kilometer, my triceps were cramped, which made shooting more difficult” – biathlete Porshnev about his victory in the marathon

Biathlete Nikita Porchnev of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, after winning the PARI Russian Championship marathon in Uvat, said that a muscle problem prevented him from shooting cleanly at the shooting lines.

On Wednesday, the 27-year-old won the men’s marathon. He covered the distance in 1 hour 56 minutes 14.5 seconds and had three misses.

– I, like everyone else, at some point began to have muscle cramps, on the rise I turned on as little as possible. If I had started working faster, I probably wouldn’t have reached at all, so I focused on the boundaries. At mile 32, I felt a heaviness on the repulsion, my triceps started to shrink, side to side. I realized that it would be difficult for me to reach the finish line at the pace I wanted. I started to slow down a bit, because I saw that the guys weren’t approaching me. Due to muscle problems, it became more difficult to shoot. From a distance, I tried to drink as much as possible, which made me feel more or less comfortable at the end of the race, ”reports the correspondent of according to the words of Porshnev.
