“During the disqualification, I had an amateur section, I organized company parties” – curler Krushelnitsky

curler Alexander Krushelnitsky told that during the four-year disqualification he worked in the amateur section and also hosted company parties.

Krushelnitsky and his wife Anastasia Bryzgalova will perform at the Nornickel Curling Cup in Dudinka, which will be held from April 23 to 26. They will perform in double-mix for the first time in official competitions after a four-year disqualification of Krushelnitsky due to meldonium.

— What are your plans after the Dudinka tournament?

The season is over for me. First Dudinka, then in mixed doubles, the Russian championship. Perhaps there will still be Russian-Chinese competitions. I’m in the ranks, next season I also intend to perform wherever I can.

Did you miss the contest?

– Of course, there is passion.

– How did four years of disqualification go for you?

– These years were difficult, of course, I was worried. Many opportunities have been missed over the years. But nothing, I return to my old condition, now here is another men’s championship of Russia. This year, I train, constantly during training camps, tournaments. We won two international tournaments with the team, in the third we were second. I’m in good shape now.

– What did you do for four years until you could play?

– I had an amateur section, I held company evenings after the Olympics. There was also time to sort out family matters,” Krushelnytsky told .

At the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, Krushelnitsky, along with his wife Bryzgalova, won bronze medals in mixed doubles, but meldonium was found in his doping test. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) found Krushelnitsky guilty of an anti-doping rule violation and overturned his results presented at the 2018 Games, Krushelnitsky and Bryzgalova were stripped of their Olympic medals.
