coaching staff Ukrainian biathlon team announced the compositions of the men’s and women’s teams that will prepare for season-2023/24.
In total, the list included 27 athletes. The women’s team decided not to be divided into two teams. Wherein, Yulia Jima and Elena Bilosyuk will train according to a separate program. Sisters Vita and Valentina Semerenko were not included in the application.
“Bilosyuk will train in self-training, he will train according to the training camp that the men’s team “B” will hold. Yuliya Jima has been working according to the plans of Uros Velepts for many years – we believe that these plans suit her personally. She is the best in our team, she will continue to prepare according to these plans. He will connect to hold a meeting with the men’s team A,” said Ivan Krulko, President of the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine.
“Semerenko performed during the Ukrainian championship, but there is a time for a generational change. The sports principle remains well-established, but if we want to build a team for the prospect of the 2026 and 2030 Olympics, then this is how we must form the main team, which will gain experience in international competitions. If they want to continue to work, to participate in competitions, no one closes the doors for them.”
