– How difficult was it for you this season to work not only with men, but also with women?
– Difficult. The number of competitions almost doubled immediately. But of course it was interesting. Larisa Kuklina is a powerful shooter. I’m poorly trained in this part as a coach, so I also try to learn from the athletes. Literally today we discussed with her what Kornev needs to do to improve the shot. She helps us in this regard. Larisa brought us a positive in the rifle unit. In the main competitions, she probably had a percentage that only Albina Akhatova gave.
– Would Larisa make a coach?
– I think so. She understands the training process well. All women are characterized by increased emotionality. Sometimes it shows in her, although in general she is a very seasoned athlete. She has everything to become a coach – probably, except the desire. As a rule, athletes who understand the job well do not really want to become coaches – they think it is difficult, – said Kaminsky, quoted by the RBU press service.
Last season, Kuklina played only at the first stages of the World Cup, taking 88th place overall. The athlete was not included in the Russian team for the Olympics. In January, the 32-year-old biathlete’s coach Mikhail Kuklin said Larisa was ready to be part of the national team throughout the Olympic cycle.
