I did my best! She ran, crashed, “challenged, warmed up and pumped” from October to April. It’s time to assess the season – in your own words, without intermediaries and frankly.
The hardest race
No, not the classic 30k marathon at Champion Heights in Malinovka, which I completed with pain and great difficulty. The most difficult was the ten classics in Kirovsk in the Russian Cup final. Everything hurts, the body wanted to get up to fix and prevent in the middle of a long climb. I’m glad we managed to add relatively late opponents. This means that they are not in Ural titanium either, more than 25 races per season and it is not easy for them.
Most important victory
The development marker was the 10 km run in the classic style in Kirovo-Chepetsk. victory over Natalia Nepryaeva in his element, Yegor Vladimirovich rained even more than me, and Sorin, satisfied with the race, is a rarer phenomenon than snow on Laura in April. Another victory in the 10k freestyle race at Champions Heights – biochem and whoop that morning confidently showed functional status was just below the plinth, I felt as a result. I rolled my rivals because of technique and character.
A shameful loss
The classic sprint in Malinovka was a child’s mistake, I did not try to ski before the start of the quarter-finals, the “cross” was 100%. It was impossible to fight with such an outfit (more precisely, incontinence).
harmless loss
All races at “Champion Heights” except for the sprint and skate ten.
Sorin and I were aware that we were taking risks preparing for it. [Лучше] a crane in the sky – the titmouse was not interested and is not interested. Lots of hard work in the mountains, at the limit, in January and February. The goal is to beat “you-know-who” and reach a fundamentally new level in the classics. wart and Natalya on Laura saw part of it. I can assume that motivated them a bit, but better check with them. The conclusions of our tandem are made. Next season, I hope to continue!
A pleasant surprise
Very, very decent hotels literally in all competitions. Full compliance with conditions at World Cup stages is even better in many ways. Yes, I fully understand that the leader of the Russian Cup and the top-class player usually live in somewhat different conditions. But I’ll tell you a secret (no): a nice hotel room is a much better motivation for a skier than a medal or even a cash prize: run well, you’ll get it.
Contrast of the year
Competitions until January inclusive and from February to April. Difference? TV game!
Of course, the federal show itself, the work of ten cameras on the freeway is cool. But there is also a “human factor”.
I understand and like what Romanov, Trifanov, Guberniev, Mospanov are doing, Legkov Korobova, Panjinsky and Solovyov – and is ready to participate in their concerts, stories and inclusions. All are part of our ski party, self-directed (Guberniev is only proficient with trekking poles so far, but we’ll put him on skis next year, we promise!). And, more importantly, they are clearly aware that their job is to “sell” us to the maximum audience, millions.
Maybe because the guys from “” have “trained” at the World Cup, the Olympics and are equal to the best, certain international standards to influence the public?
Disappointment of the year
All print media and bloggers. Against the background of the powerful, professional and modern work of , the rest of the press looks like greetings from the 20th century. Who are these 25-question interviews for? For certain particular “cross-country skiing aesthetes”? Are there any at all? And how many are they? I stopped reading this a long time ago, even about rivals – I’m just not very interested. Not to mention your own involvement. A significant portion of the season has attempted to make this known in response to interview requests. However, we finally explained: I don’t have time to write to journalists and bloggers and I won’t until they make a breakthrough in development and learn to be solicited by millions of people. I’m sure they don’t care much about me as a person and contact person, so win-win for everyone.
Best competition site
Almost everything I had the chance to race this season, in chronological order: Khanty-Mansiysk, Top of the Tyoi, Chusovoy, Kirovo-Chepetsk, Malinovka, Tyumen, Kirovsk.
If I had to choose one, then, probably, Kirovsk, Khibiny. There are no miracles: when a sport is developed and sponsored by a big company, everything is done according to the highest standards. In Teya, Kirovo-Chepetsk or, say, Chusovoy, there is no such money, but even there I am extremely grateful, I appreciate the desire of everyone involved to make an event for the city outside competitions with the participation of the best skiers.
A place that needs progress/reform and where I don’t want to go back
Krasnogorsk disappointed. You can find a dozen explanations, but the reality is that when the track has been made for many months by good snowcats, its quality corresponds to the level of the Russian Cup/Championship. Like in Kirovsk, Malinovka or Tyumen. And when it’s not quite the case, we get a slightly different result. Ditto for the hotel next to the ski stadium: who will explain why in Tei, Malinovka or Kirovsk it is possible to renovate a hotel so that it is “like in Switzerland”, but not in the inner suburbs of Moscow?
Well, the “fan breakthrough” straight to our warm-up city is just plain wrong. Head to Tyumen or even Kirovsk to learn how to run the actual competition!
surprised rival
Alena Baranova And Elizabeth Pantrina . Lisa not only has talent, but also a champion character, which she knows how to “invest” in the most important races. And also a well-built “support group”, here we are close to her.
Of course, she is just beginning to show potential, like Alena. Alena has her own development tactics and she adheres to them. Andrey Vladimirovich Nutrikhin helped her open the backstage, behind which the athlete’s abilities were hidden. Alena has been my main rival since 2013, from Pionerskaya Pravda, can you imagine? I’m glad our rivalry continues!
If not, how can you improve
Listen, “everything was invented before us”! The most advanced ski festival in the world – BLINK in Norway – offers a great mix of competitions for children, races of the best skiers and biathletes in the world and concerts by local pop and rock stars.
I fully understand that producing such a festival is much more difficult than simple competitions, and the price there is about 200 million rubles equivalent. But then you get an event that is really watched and expected. When conditionally Bolshunov and Shaman appear together on stage, the effect will increase several times. And the effect produced is exactly what it’s all about.
