Alexey Timofeev’s team representing St. Petersburg became the winner of the Russian Men’s Curling Championship, which was held in Sochi.
Timofeev, Alexander Krushelnitsky, Artur Razhabov, Daniil Goryachev and Petr Dron played for the team.
In the final of the tournament, St. Petersburg-1 beat the team from the Irkutsk-Komsomoll-1 region (skip Mikhail Vlasenko) with the score 10:2.
Third place was taken by the team of St. Petersburg-2, which beat the representatives of Moscow — 7:5.
At the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, Krushelnitsky, along with his wife Anastasia Bryzgalova, won bronze medals in mixed doubles, but meldonium was found in his doping test. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) found Krushelnytsky guilty of an anti-doping rule violation and overturned their results from the 2018 Games. The Russian pair lost their Olympic medals.
