Olympic silver medalist in skeleton Nikita Tregubov told that he is currently undergoing a medical examination and the timing of his return may depend on the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) decision on the admission of Russian athletes.
In July, the IBSF took the decision to withdraw Russian athletes from international competition following the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
“I am still on a medical visit, there are still a few tests. Everything is fine with my health, I feel good. Next week I have to finish UMO.
– What are your plans for the season, when do you plan to return?
– We don’t know what the season will be, so it’s too early to say anything. So far, we are waiting for a decision on admission or non-admission to international competitions, after which it will be possible to plan a schedule, Tregubov told .
In March 2023, the IOC issued recommendations on the possible return of the Russians to the biggest competitions. They assume a neutral status, individual admission, the absence of contracts with law enforcement agencies and the armed forces. Additionally, all eligible athletes must compete without the national flag and anthem.
