Coach of the Russian men’s biathlon team Yuri Kaminsky says a personal trainer Anastasia Grishina wanted her to join his group.
The Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) executive committee previously approved an expanded list of candidates for the national team for the 2023/24 season.
– There was a possibility that Anastasia Grishina would join our group. It was what his personal trainer wanted, but the coaching council decided that we weren’t expanding the group. She refused to go to sunset with the junior team, as she was planning a training camp in Aldan with us. We had a reserved seat for her, so the personal trainer asked her to take it. Since she was considering joining Artem Istomin’s group, I contacted him, and he was not against it.
She won the women’s marathon, but she had no particularly strong rivals, so Nastya won quite easily. I find it difficult to say how good or bad she ran, but bravo. I can’t imagine the level of athletes she beat at the moment,” Kaminsky told Metaratings.ru.
