Commentator and presenter of the channel Dmitry Guberniev, in a conversation with a correspondent of the site, explained why biathletes Alexander Loginov, Anton Babikov, Svetlana Mironova and Victoria Slivko were not included in the groups for the centralized training for the 2023/24 season.
Previously, the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) published the composition of the coaching groups to prepare for the 2023/24 season. Loginov, Babikov, Slivko and Mironova were not among them. Last season, Loginov and Babikov were part of Sergei Bashkirov’s group, Mironova trained with Artem Istomin, and Slivko was part of the Tyumen region team.
– Mironova did not enter the team, Loginov does not want to train with the national team, Babikov has already started working with Ufa – in his native region. As for Victoria Slivko, she does the only right thing, because she looked brilliant, working according to the plans of Andrey Padin. In Tyumen, Victoria will continue to be in great demand, she will compete and fight. I’m not at all surprised.
The question is that the RRF were not even going to announce the composition of the coaching groups in May. They were going to do it on June 1st. But under strong public pressure, including mine, they did it a little earlier. It’s good that they kept Sergei Bashkirov’s group.
Let them work in peace. Now, the concept of the national team still seems fleeting, because we don’t have international competitions. But in general, people who should have pre-season training should receive an invitation to work with the team, Guberniev told .
