Vice-president of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) for the development of professional sports and head coach of the Russian national team Pavel Rostovtsev said that between the coach Sergei Bashkirov and biathlete Anton Babikov there is no conflict.
Previously, the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) published the composition of the coaching groups to prepare for the 2023/24 season. Babikov was not included in Sergei Bashkirov’s squad, in which he trained last season. The biathlete will train independently in his region – Ufa.
– There is no conflict between Bashkirov and Babikov. We told Anton where Dmitry Shukalovich was going. And before this transition, Anton had already decided that he would prepare on his own. There was no personal conflict between Bashkirov and Babikov. Anton himself made the decision, because, perhaps, his expectations of working in the Bashkirov group did not come true for him.
