Commentator Dmitry Guberniev told that he was interested in the reaction of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the Russian Olympic Committee (OKR ) about the situation with the invalid diploma of the President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maygurov .
On Thursday, the Kirovsky district court of Yekaterinburg invalidated the diploma of the head of the RBU on higher education. The defendant, in addition to Maygurov, was the Ural Institute of Commerce and Law.
– As far as I know, according to the letter of the law of the Russian Federation, Viktor Maygurov cannot be president of the RRF, because he did not have a higher education. If he has it, let him provide the documents. I am also interested in the reaction of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the ROC and the biathlon community itself. The situation is anecdotal. We remember how an absolutely illegitimate person tried to become the head coach of the team, but he did not succeed.
We must approach the situation with Maigurov with all seriousness. Otherwise, the SBR will turn into a marquee, but that would be undesirable, Guberniev told .
Maygurov has been in charge of the SBR since the summer of 2020.
