“The complaint against Maygurov is outdated election technology from one of the candidates” – member of the RBU Board of Directors Levunin

Communication in the media regarding a complaint to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation against the President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maygurov it’s outdated pre-election technology from one of the candidates for RRF leader, Andrey Levunin, a member of the union’s board of directors, told .

Previously, “” had a letter from the Chairman of the RBU Council Alexander Yeslev to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov asking to verify the activities of Maygurov as head of the union. According to those who filed this complaint, Maigurov’s actions contain signs of abuse of power, arbitrariness, illegal activities in terms of distribution of financial resources, embezzlement.

– Regarding your question, to comment on the reports in the media about the statement of Alexander Ivanovich Eslev, on behalf of some members of the RRF Council, I can only answer one thing – that there is no statement and there is nothing to comment on. We have all repeatedly witnessed bursts of information associated with various declarations and signatures, which either turned out to be unsigned, unsigned by all signatories, or had other metamorphoses befall them. Therefore, if there is no clear document, there is nothing to comment on. It’s the first.

Secondly, this situation, a scan of the first page of the letter in the Telegram channel and then a survey by sports correspondents and other media of the maximum number of possible respondents on a possible situation, has nothing to do with Russian biathlon, management of a public organization and discuss any issue related to biathlon. What we are all seeing now is outdated pre-election technology from one of the two RRF presidential candidates. Unfortunately, that is exactly what we see and nothing more. I really wish that such methods and methods are not used again in the future, but everyone sets their own limits.

As for Alexander Ivanovitch Yeslev, I think we personally have a good relationship with him. A person suffers from biathlon and worries, we communicate with him from time to time, call him. I also want to say that he was repeatedly invited to meetings of the RBU Board of Directors on a number of issues that he initiated. I consider him a reasonable and adequate person, but I must state that Alexander Ivanovich is under some influence or promises from the support group of one of the candidates for the post of President of the RBU.

We have personally and openly discussed this problem and many other issues. I really hope for the prudence and foresight of Alexander Ivanovich, and I’m sure he understands that together we can do more. I think he did not submit any documents to law enforcement, being well aware of the absurdity of this event.

This is one of the main problems in Russian biathlon – the lack of a large team of like-minded people. If representatives of biathlon of different levels, from different regions do not unite with each other and form a single strategy and a single leadership team, then they will simply be separated by various interested parties for their own sake. It is always easier to separate and promise everyone something of their own at the stage of entering the leadership, and then the necessary solutions are achieved by technical means.

Separately, as the simplest example, I can give an example of the activity of RBU members on the management of their public organization (RBU). For 2 years, and in fact for exactly 4 years, and probably more, none of the members of the RBU were interested in either reporting or organizational management issues. But as early as April 15, a number of representatives urgently wanted to start dealing with these issues. They received the necessary answers to the requests sent, but, apparently, for the election campaign it is necessary to show even greater activity.

A similar question is about the councils of the RBU, elected in 2018, which has not met once in 4 years of its real existence. At the same time, in 2020, the current RBU leadership tried to convene and organize the work of the RBU Council, it was not possible to achieve a quorum, but who will remember the years of work on the eve of the elections? Here you can “warm up the audience”.

Once again, I call on all representatives of the biathlon community – unite among yourselves, support your team for the sake of biathlon and its future in Russia, – Levunin told .

The election of the leader of the RRF will take place on June 23. Maygurov and RBU Vice President Alexei Nuzhdov are candidates for the post.
