Athletistic/ Winter sports. Olympic Games silver medalist in short track Konstantin Ivliev said he saw nothing wrong with preventing Russian athletes from competing internationally.
“I don’t know why everyone makes it a tragedy that we’ve all been shut down. We don’t see anything wrong with it, we keep doing our job, we love it. Journalists write: ‘Oh our poor athletes. “Yes, we are not poor! We will play with the same attitude, just at the stages of the Russian Cup,” said Ivliev, who is currently in training camp on the eve of the new sports season.
The International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions in March 2022 after the start of a Russian special military operation on Ukrainian territory.
