Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) President Viktor Maigurov told about the preparation of the Chelyabinsk region for the Spartakiad of the strongest in Zlatoust.
The decision to hold the Winter Spartakiad of the strongest Russian athletes was made in 2022. The Spartakiad biathlon competitions will be held in Zlatoust (Chelyabinsk region) from February 9 to 19, 2024.
– Previously, there were no competitions at the federal level. We are counting on the stadium and the shooting range which bear the name of Svetlana Ishmuratova. They have been under construction for quite some time now, and the Spartakiad is a good opportunity for the Chelyabinsk region to finish what was started. The SBR has sent several inspections there, the last one a week ago with representatives of the Ministry of Sports. From our side, we are doing everything so that another biathlon center will appear on the map of the country, but today it depends more on the region,” Maygurov told .
As part of the Spartakiad 2024, biathletes will have an individual race, a sprint, a pursuit, a mixed relay (2+2), a mass start and a regular relay.
