President of the Russian Biathlon Union Viktor Maygurov said in an interview with that he expects a decrease in the amount of financial support for biathlon next season.
In October last year, a conference on reports and elections of the RBU was held, during which Maygurov was elected president of the organization for a new term. Aleksey Nuzhdov, president of the Moscow Region Biathlon Federation, also applied for the position. As a result, Maygurov received 31 votes, Nuzhdov – 23.
— The exercise is coming to an end, we are communicating with potential partners. Changes are expected, unfortunately, not in the direction of an increase. Details will be worked out by the end of June – then it will become clear under what conditions old agreements will be extended and new ones will be signed, – the correspondent quotes Maigurov.
– Will RRF aid to regions in the amount of one million rubles a year continue?
“Helping the regions is a priority for us. Even with an annual budget of 100 million rubles, the federation was able to allocate a tenth to them. We do not plan to reduce the aid program, but it is too early to say how much it will be built up in a year. This will be determined by the RRF Executive Committee based on what we can earn.
According to Maygurov, the SBR budget last season was around 350 million rubles.
