Chairman of the Coaching Council of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), Vladimir Bragin, said that Elizabeth Kaplina , Vasily Tomshin , Ksenia Dovgaya , Alina Kudisova And Ivan Kolotov are preparing for the season in Sochi as part of the national team.
Previously, commentator Dmitry Guberniev reported on his Telegram channel that these biathletes were not included in the Russian national team due to manipulations of the team selection system that occurred in the RRF.
– As far as I know, these biathletes are now training in Sochi as part of a team. The criteria for the national team have been formed, the lists have been drawn up, how not to enter them? All these biathletes are now in centralized training. Kolotov and Tomshin train with Bashkirov, Kudisova, Dovgay and Kaplina – in Istomin’s group.
The team includes athletes who took first, second and third place in the RBU rankings at the end of the season. The fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh places are occupied by the biathletes who scored the most points in the national championship.
There is a table according to which they scored points. Eighth place goes to the top junior, who took first place among juniors. The top eight are determined in this way, by points, and the remaining eight places are distributed at the discretion of the national team coaches,” Bragin told Metaratings.ru.
Earlier, Guberniev reported that Larisa Kuklina, Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov and Yevgeny Yemerkhonov were deprived of the salaries of Russian national team members.
