– How were you told that there were no national team bets for you?
– Yesterday I decided to ask Rostovtsev directly about the criteria for sports betting in the CSP, to which he replied that the number of bets is limited. And according to the criteria, I do not pass. I would like to tell you the backstory: even at the start last season, the coaches told us that the competitions in Izhevsk and Chaikovsky would be the main ones, because in terms of timing they simulate the World Championships and the Olympic Games. It was for these departures that all the groups were preparing. These departures formed the basis for the formation of national team rosters and additional pay.
– Have you communicated with Kaminsky? What he says?
– I spoke with all the coaches, explained the situation, at which Yuri Mikhailovich expressed his indignation. He added that with all the coaches they only discussed national team rosters. They did not discuss lists of who would be paid. As I said, I spoke with Rostovtsev, he added that all the coaches are aware and have information. And the fact that they didn’t defend me is the mistake of our coaches, and then no one can help me anymore.
Until May 24, I was absolutely sure that everything was in order with my bet, that there would be a salary, that I would train as part of the national team, because at the pre-arranged starts I became champion , silver and bronze medalist. And just on the 24th, Evgeny (Emerkhonov) said that we were not on the lists, after which I started calling and finding out what happened. This whole story lasts four days, but there is no progress. Yesterday I asked Pavel Rostovtsev where I should go next, because I went through all the instances: SBR, TsSP – well, where? Who will help me? The answer was, “I don’t know, I can’t help you.”
– How important was the bet in the national team for you? Because we all know the problems of the Republic of Udmurtia.
– I consider the salary at the TsSP as an additional opportunity to upgrade my equipment, boots, skis. Because for four years I have been buying all this myself, and it turns out to be quite expensive. Every year I spend about half a million rubles on equipment.
But I would like to say that all is not so bad in our region. Ivan Yurievich (Cherezov) has already found additional sponsors who will be able to cover part of the expenses. I’m very grateful!

– Of course, there is a misunderstanding why everything happened this way, but such a criterion worked there, which is called “by personal request”. There is nothing we can do about it.
– Do you understand why there are only 32 tariffs, and they take more for centralized formation? Why is it?
– I have no understanding on this issue either. As they say, the ways of the Lord are inscrutable, and even more so for everyone. Of course, all this is aimed at high competition, the selection of the strongest athletes. But we train in the Russian national team, we work, we try, and I think that all work should be paid.
You already said you did your best. What actions will you take next?
Yes, I did my best. As is customary in our country, I turned to all the authorities: I wrote to the head of the regional federation, to my personal coaches, talked to the coaches of the group, with Rostovtsev, then I don’t know to whom address me. At the moment I am in Sochi, we are training in the group of Yuri Mikhailovich. Developing, trying to train (laughs). In such circumstances, it’s difficult to ignore, but I try, because you have to prepare for the season, in addition you have to show the result there to continue to be reinforced concrete at the pace.
But still, in my opinion, I showed decent results in a season where all the strongest were here. No one went to the World Cup, everyone was there and I was able to become the Russian champion. I think it’s worth something. I think that should be appreciated.
