Former rehabilitator Russian team Ilya Yakovlev told that the management of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) decided not to renew the contract with him for financial reasons.
Earlier on Sunday, commentator Dmitry Guberniev announced the elimination of the post of rehabilitation specialist in the Russian biathlon team.
– How did you receive the announcement of the abolition of the post?
– It would be more correct to say that they did not renew the contract with me. Let’s say we didn’t agree. And I was told in no uncertain terms that the financial burden falling on my services should be better directed in another direction.
– Didn’t they say in which direction?
No (laughs), they didn’t. There is only fantasy. But you yourself know what happens in biathlon: athletes do not even receive bets.
– Were the costs for you so high that the SBR budget could not cope?
– No. If we look at the labor market, here the salary was approximately at the average level. That’s far from space money, just the average labor market wage.
– In other words, if you worked in a clinic, would you get more?
“Of course, of course, even three times more,” Yakovlev told .
