Head of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maygurov reported on the work done in the framework of the implementation of the biathlon development program until 2026, and also presented its proposals in the event of re-election for a new term. According to , the corresponding document was sent to the representatives of the regional federations on Tuesday.
According to the document, under Maygurov, who has headed the RRF since 2020, the following points of the program were implemented:
— For 1.5 years of implementation of the biathlon development program until 2026. roadmap is completed.
— It is planned to adapt the list of activities and draw up a new roadmap every two years.
— There was an increase in the volume of material and technical support to regional organizations for a total of 35 million rubles per season.
— The range of biathlon stocks and equipment transferred to regional bodies has been expanded.
— The annual competition “The best regional biathlon coach in sports schools and institutions” was established with the payment of scholarships.
— There was co-financing of the regional youth competitions included in the ETUC. With a budget of up to 10 million rubles per season.
– In collaboration with RIOU and ROC, refresher courses have been organized for regional team coaches (twice per season)
– Advanced courses have been organized for coaches from schools and sports institutions (4 seminars per season in the districts) with the issuance of certificates recognized by the State at the expense of the SBR.
– A program has been developed to determine a biathlete’s prospects for Olympic cycles.
— Development and publication of methodological recommendations on skiing technique, visual material on shooting for sports schools.
There is also an improvement in the material and technical base (reconstruction of shooting ranges in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, construction of a hotel on Laura in collaboration with Gazprom, work on the organization of the production of skis, production of mats biathlon, etc). In addition, scientific, methodological and advisory areas have been developed (all-Russian seminars for judges and specialists, advice for regional organizations, etc.). There is an improvement in the structure of holding All-Russian competitions.
According to the plan, it is necessary to change the system of sports training, removing from it the need to achieve high results at an early age, as well as to introduce a unified methodology for the training of boys and girls and monitor the certification of coaches.
As part of the development of youth sports, Maigurov proposes to cancel official rankings and compensation for under-18s, to continue the implementation of the Biathlon to Schools project and to create a School Biathlon League.
The draft budget is as follows: income – 228.9 million rubles, expenses – 219.7 million rubles (expenses for the national teams of the Russian Federation – 79 million rubles, the Biathlon-2026 program – 52, 7 million rubles, including support for regional organizations – 35 million rubles, organization of competitions – 42 million rubles, maintenance of the SBR apparatus – 46 million rubles), reserve funds – up to 5% of income.
Maygurov will be re-elected for another term in the RBU leadership elections, which will be held on June 23. RBU Vice President Alexei Nuzhdov is also a candidate for the post.
