Olympic silver medal biathlete Svetlana Mironova told that she had not lost her motivation due to the withdrawal of Russian athletes from international departures.
Previously, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) suspended all Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under its auspices. The IBU also suspended the membership of the RBU and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation from the organization.
– After the Games, they said that you had more motivation, that you really wanted to participate in the Olympics again. About the withdrawal of international departures, has this desire not dried up?
“I’m very motivated no matter what and I’m on the path to improving myself. What happens probably doesn’t matter. You have to be flexible and adapt to the situation, because that’s life. Life will always be so unstable. It is dynamic, never static. I am flexible, I adapt to the situation and today my motivation has not changed, but has become even stronger. Despite the fact that, most likely, there will be no international season, I work. We have a four-year cycle. To be then in order, you must lay the foundation.
– If we are not talking about the whole cycle, but only about the upcoming season. What is the point?
– First of all, I want to be better than I was. I want to tighten up my shooting training so it’s very noticeable. And so – to win everything.
— Are you going to watch the World Cup?
– I do not know. Maybe I’ll open the protocols and see the results. If suddenly it will be interesting, then watch the show. But when we weren’t going to the World Cup, I wasn’t interested in watching biathlon. It’s like the season is over and nothing else is happening. Although before, if I didn’t take starts, I always watched the races on television with great interest. I also watched the men’s races. It was always very interesting, encouraging our guys. But when we weren’t allowed to play, it became uninteresting.
