On Sunday, the ISU confirmed the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions. This decision was taken in 2022 in the context of the situation in Ukraine.
– The next ISU advice in the fall, there is also a chance to make a decision before the active start of the season – for skaters, however, it is earlier than for skaters and short track , but there is still a chance of admission before the season. In addition, the ISU is concerned about the decline in interest in competitions, they suffer losses due to the absence of our skaters.
If they want, they will find an option to allow it by the season, but everything will depend on the situation in Ukraine, Zhurova told .
Earlier, the ISU issued an audit report in which it recognized the negative consequences of the withdrawal of Russian athletes from tournaments under the organization’s auspices.
