1972 Olympic bobsleigh champion Jean Vicki has died at the age of 89, according to the press service of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation.
It should be noted that the former bobsledder of the Swiss national team died on Sunday June 11.
Vicki won the 1972 Olympics in Sapporo in a four-way event with Edi Hubacher, Hans Leutenegger and Werner Kamichel. The Swiss also won bronze medals at the Olympic Games twice – in 1968 he won the medal in the four-man competition, in 1972 in the two-man competition.
Vicki has the gold of the 1968 European Championship and eight victories in the Swiss Championship. On June 18, he would have been 90 years old.
