The Swedish Olympic Committee intends to submit its bid to host the Winter Olympics in 2030. This was reported to Reuters by the head of the committee, Hans von Uthmann.
According to him, the feasibility study showed the interest of organizing competitions in Stockholm.
“Our preliminary research has shown that Sweden has the capacity, the necessary modern equipment and the desire to host the Winter Olympics in 2030,” von Uthmann said.
Previously, Japan’s Sapporo and Canada’s Vancouver withdrew their bids to host the Winter Games in 2030.
Sweden hosted the Summer Olympics in 1912.
