– In the sprint final at the last stage of the Russian Cup in Kirovsk, you fell, although you won the qualification. After the finish they cried and said that this race was important to you. Did you know you were leaving and wanted to end it in style?
Yes I knew. When I went to the start of the classic ten in Kirovsk, I still doubted, because of this I was not even in a good mood. Before that, I thought, of course, but I finally decided just before the sprint. I decided: do what you can, you should succeed. When I fell ridiculously, nobody even intervened with me, it became annoying. Well, that’s how it was supposed to be.
— It is surprising that you dared to take such an important step almost in the last race of the season.
– I analyzed my years of skiing, I understood that switching to biathlon would help to further develop as an athlete. Everyone wants to fully realize themselves, and this was guided by. It was my personal choice, even my parents said: “We won’t advise you, decide for yourself, it’s your life.”
“When people dare to make big changes, they not only strive for the best, but also move away from the worst. What have you left behind?
– I am almost 24 years old, the years pass, the age is no longer junior. It’s time to show good results, but, evaluating my chances in cross-country skiing, the group I was in, the work of last year, understood that I had already worked with almost all the coaches in the world. Russian national team, and if you don’t use the chance to change the sport now, there may not be another will, – said Gruhvina “”.
