President of Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe told that the Russian skier Alexander Bolshunov who spoke positively about the Russian inventory, was not allowed to because of a sponsorship contract with another brand.
Earlier, Bolshunov on said that Russian ski poles are of good quality. The Russian skier has a contract with Swedish ski equipment manufacturer SkiGo.
– Alexander Bolshunov said he likes Russian equipment, especially sticks and rollers. I wanted to ask, what are your impressions of the Russian equipment and have you communicated with the athletes, is everyone happy with everything?
— The rollers are good, but we haven’t really tested the poles, only the juniors rode them last season. We communicate with the manufacturers, they take our requests into account. However, they are still produced in Chinese factories, like everything else in the world. Everything is made in the same factories using similar technology.
It’s not very good that Bolshunov speaks positively about Russian sticks, because he has a contract with another manufacturer’s brand. Under the contract, he is not allowed to praise other brands. It’s just unethical. It’s the same as having a contract with Rossignol skis, but using Fischer, Vyalbe told .
