The Biathlon Federation of Ukraine will have a new president. For the first time in the long period of his reign, Vladimir Brynzak is stepping down.
According to the information biathlon.com.uathe functionary decided not to nominate a candidate for the next four years.
It should be noted that the election of a new president will be held at the election reporting and conference on May 18, 2022. Due to the war, they will be held by videoconference.
At the same time, Brynzak himself declined to comment on the reasons that prompted him to resign. Recall that at the beginning of April, the President of the FBU had a conflict with Ukrainian biathletes, who accused the functionary of helping naturalized Russians.
It should be noted that Brynzak has been in office since 1998. He was last elected in 2018 after the Pyeongchang Olympics, when he was the only candidate.
