From July 1, the training groups of Sergei Bashkirov and Yuri Kaminsky were united. The general methodological direction was taken over by Kaminsky.
– What changes have taken place in the work of the men’s team with the unification of the groups? Can we talk about the liquidation of Sergei Bashkirov’s group?
“Now it is difficult to say what effect this will ultimately have. The changes will take place gradually. So far, the athletes of both groups are working according to a common plan within the framework of a single training concept, but in the same time, taking into account the individual characteristics of each athlete. Now we are organizing the first joint collection. There are certain advantages in uniting the groups, but in order to achieve the goal, the disadvantages must also be minimized. The main thing is that athletes work more efficiently.
– How did you control the work of the Bashkirov group during the first training camp?
– We crossed paths for five days in one of the training camps. They worked with my adjustments to the plan, but mostly adhered to the plans that Bashkirov made. Then they began to gradually rebuild under my vision.
– The coaches of another group of Bashkirs and Pavel Maksimov, when working together, will also continue to supervise the athletes who trained with them?
– Since we work in the same methodological concept, I would like us to work together. Of course, athletes have certain predispositions, and they can approach Bashkirov first, because he knows them better today. It would be better if they contacted him. If the athletes have questions, they will decide for themselves.
– Do you follow the training of Karim Khalili and Daniil Serokhvostov in the group of Artem Istomin?
“Now we are holding training camps in parallel with them. So it was in Sochi and Raubichi, now they came here, to the Seminsky pass. Of course, I watch them, but do not interfere. I also know the concept of their training,” Kaminsky said.
