Double Olympic champion Anna Bogaliy told that she hopes to be elected to the executive committee of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), like her husband Andrey Levunin, a member of the union’s board of directors.
On Thursday, the RBU Report and Election Conference will take place. 24 candidates were registered for the elections to the executive committee, including Bogaliy and Levunin.
– You have been elected to the executive committee, is this the first time for you?
“I tried twice during the reign. I think with the third spare cartridge I should be able to close this target. In fact, this is such a biathlon joke. Ten years of our Cup, our movement – there are results, there is growth. It is probably time to share the accumulated experience, to replicate it in other regions.
– For the first time it will be such that, perhaps, the husband and the wife will be in the executive committee?
– Family history is always in the background, and in the first place the biathlon family, which we have been creating for ten years. We must give our children opportunities. Some of my great qualities, some of Andrey’s. He is a lawyer, he has a lot of business experience. I have a biathlon history. We are just going to reinforce each other (in the executive committee of the RRF), I don’t see anything so criminal,” Bogaliy told .
Bogaliy annually organizes All-Russian competitions for young biathletes.
