biathlete Dmitry Shamaev who has been playing for the Romanian team since 2021, told that some biathletes from France, Germany and Lithuania are waiting for the Russians at the World Cup.

Earlier, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) set for international federations the criteria for admitting Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Olympic Games. It is recommended that athletes be admitted to the Games individually, in a neutral status, not associated with law enforcement and without expressing support for the SVO.

Last season, Russians and Belarusians participated in domestic competitions due to the ban on competitions under the auspices of the IBU.

— Did anything change at the World Cup when the Russians and Belarusians were eliminated?

Many people know where I come from. And foreigners, for example, acquaintances from France, Germany, Lithuania, in training or after the race said that they were waiting for the Russian team. At the same time, some give interviews where they say that everything is fine, that they should be suspended. They divided it into two camps – someone is waiting for Russians and Belarusians, someone – until the end of the NWO – is not waiting.

– There was an opinion that it is also worth withdrawing Russians from international competitions for the safety of Russian athletes. Povarnitsyn told how in Europe a man attacked the national team bus. Have you felt negativity from strangers?

– No nothing at all. There were no problems or incomprehensible situations,” Shamaev told .

Shamaev started playing for Romania in 2021. Earlier, as part of the Russian junior team, he became the world champion as part of the relay team, and Dmitry is also the winner of the Russian championship.
