The World Curling Federation has extended the suspension of Russians from international competitions until the end of the year

The Executive Committee of the World Curling Federation (WCF) has extended the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions under the auspices of the organization until the end of 2023, reports the press service of the Russian Curling Federation (RCF). ).

However, WCF reserves the right to revise this decision if necessary.

In March last year, against the background of events in Ukraine, the international federation announced the withdrawal of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions. The WCF subsequently extended the sanction twice.

Formerly Executive Committee IOC recommended that Russian and Belarusian athletes be allowed to participate in international competitions only as neutral athletes, and only those who have not spoken publicly in support of the SVO and are not associated with the armed forces or security agencies national security. At the same time, Russian and Belarusian athletes should not be allowed to participate in international team sports competitions.
