Vaitsekhovskaya called Maksimov’s decision to vote for Nuzhdov in RRF leader election short-sighted

Olympic diving champion Elena Vaitsekhovskaya called Russian national biathlon team coach’s decision short-sighted Maksim Maksimova vote for vice president Alexei Nuzhdov in the presidential elections of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU).

On Thursday, a conference on reports and elections of the RBU was held in Moscow. Incumbent President Viktor Maygurov and Nuzhdov claimed the position of head of the organization. According to the results of the vote, none of the candidates won 2/3 of the votes, Maigurov was supported by 35 delegates, Nuzhdov – by 18.

– An interesting question: did the coach of the Russian shooting team Maxim Maksimov act decently by not voting for the current president of the RRF (which, according to sources, was a preliminary agreement with the region that Maxim represented at the electoral conference)? If you’re nominated as an area delegate and don’t represent yourself personally, but those who delegated you, that’s probably not entirely far-sighted – just because the people who nominated you are drawing conclusions for the future that are not in your favor. And you live and work in this world, – quotes Vaytsekhovskaya RT.

Repeated elections for the President of the RBU will take place at the end of August. The procedure will take place under the new charter, according to which a candidate must obtain 50% plus two votes to win.
