Bronze medal went to Elena Gorodnaya
Ukrainian Anastasia Merkushina won silver on women’s super sprint among juniors Summer Biathlon World Cup 2023, which takes place in the Slovak Brezno-Osrbli.
Merkushina made three misses at the shooting range and finished second, 9.5 seconds behind the winner of the race, Bulgarian Laura Hristova. The third was Merkushina’s compatriot Elena Gorodnaya.
Two more Ukrainians took part in the super sprint. Ksenia Prikhodko finished 12th with four misses, while international debutant Eva Martynenko finished 23rd with three misses.
The 2023 Summer Biathlon World Cup takes place in Slovakia from 24 to 27 August. Today, the junior men’s super sprint is scheduled to be held, in which six Ukrainian biathletes will take part.
