Olympic medalist in Vancouver and triple world champion in biathlon Maxim Chudov told that the leadership of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), in the current circumstances, is not able to influence the improvement of the financial situation.
Chudov has twice won the world championship relay and at the 2008 World Cup in Östersund he won the sprint. He is now one of the leaders of the Bashkir branch of the Dynamo company and is a member of the executive committee of the RRF.
– RBU President Viktor Maigurov has already said this many times: the financial situation in Russian biathlon is changing for the worse. Issue?
Do you see what is happening in the world? How can we talk about super sponsors if our biathlon only competes inside the country? Realities leave traces, whatever one may say. In our sport, many are used to decent funding, but I say as a leader: the situation in our leadership in the country and in the world is unfavorable, you have to be ready for every turn. Neither Maygurov, nor Petrov, nor Vaseshkin are in a position to influence this as long as the worldwide difficult situation persists.
I know from my area: someone wants something, but there are tasks that cannot be undone. And everyone understands that something will have to be given up. These are realities that cannot be ignored, – Chudov told .
