Top 15 includes Alexandra Merkushina, Ksenia Prikhodko and Eva Martynenko
Ukrainian biathlete Elena Gorodnaya placed fourth in the junior women’s sprint at Summer Biathlon World Championships 2023.
The Ukrainian had two misses in shooting and finished a minute and seven seconds behind winner Laura Hristova of Bulgaria. Slovak biathlete Ema Kapustova won silver, Bulgarian Valentina Dimitrova won bronze.
Three more Ukrainians placed in the top 15 of the race. Alexandra Merkushina with four misses became 11th, Ksenia Prikhodko took 13th place Eva Martynenko – 14th.
Recall that Gorodnaya, together with Alexandra Merkushina, together climbed the podium in the women’s junior super sprint. In a similar race for men, silver was brought to Ukraine by Sergey Suprun.
The 2023 Summer Biathlon World Cup takes place in Slovakia from 24 to 27 August. On Saturday, August 26, there will also be sprint races among juniors, as well as in the elite category.
