Ukrainian biathletes took the entire podium in the junior sprint at Summer World Cup 2023which takes place in the Slovak Brezno-Osrbli.
Gold conquered Bogdan Borkovsky, who passed the track with one miss. Less than a second, Stepan Kinash lost to him, demonstrating clean shooting. Bronze won Vitaly Mandzyn.
Three more Ukrainians entered the top 30 of the race. Sergey Suprun took fifth place, Mikhail Khmil – 13th, and Yegor Makarenko – 22nd.
In total, at the 2023 Summer World Cup, Ukraine has already won six medals. Earlier, Alexandra Merkushina and Elena Gorodnaya together climbed the podium in the women’s junior super sprint. In a similar race for men, silver was brought to Ukraine by Sergey Suprun, and in the super sprint among the elite, Artem Tishchenko won bronze.
The 2023 Summer Biathlon World Cup takes place in Slovakia from 24 to 27 August. On Saturday, the sprint races for men and women in the elite categories will take place later.
