Lesyuk won gold in the mass start at the 2023 Summer Biathlon World Championships

Tishchenko finished in the top 10

Ukrainian Taras Lesyuk won a gold medal in the mass start at the summer biathlon world championship 2023.

Our biathlete did not make a single mistake and finished with a comfortable margin. Romanian Dmitry Shamaev was 8.6 seconds behind Taras.

Six Ukrainians took part in this discipline at once. The second result among our compatriots was shown by Artem Tishchenko (one miss).

This championship is extremely successful for Ukraine. Earlier, Alexandra Merkushina and Elena Gorodnaya together climbed the podium in the women’s junior super sprint. In a similar race in men, silver was brought to Ukraine by Sergey Suprun, and in the super sprint among adults, Artem Tishchenko won bronze. In the junior sprint, representatives of Ukraine occupied the entire podium. Mandzyn and Borkowski took silver and bronze in the junior pursuit.

The 2023 Summer Biathlon World Cup takes place in the Slovak Brezno-Osrbli and will end today, August 27. Ahead is the women’s mass start, where representatives of Ukraine will also compete for medals.
