Candidate for the post of head of the Russian Biathlon Union Alexei Nuzhdov announced an agreement with the president of the organization Viktor Maygurov about a two-month pause in the campaign before the second round of elections.
On June 23, a conference on RBU reports and elections is held in Moscow. Incumbent President Maygurov and Vice President Nuzhdov both claimed the position of head of the organization. In the end, none of the candidates obtained 2/3 of the votes: Maigurov was supported by 35 delegates, Nuzhdov by 18.
“We agreed to continue without any campaign, words in the media of our positions,” Nuzhdov said. They won’t change at all in two months. The programs don’t change either. Just to compete, who will give the most interesting interview? Also, probably, the semantic load does not carry. Probably, we will limit ourselves in all these interviews. We will be eagerly awaiting this date, the date on which the conference will be scheduled.
Repeated elections will take place at the end of August, the procedure will take place according to the new charter.
