Deputy Chairman of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) and Head of the Moscow Region Biathlon Federation Alexei Nuzhdov said he would quit the SBR if he lost the organization’s presidential election.
In addition to Nuzhdov, the incumbent also claims to be the leader of the RRF Viktor Maygurov . According to the results of the vote, none of the candidates won 2/3 of the votes, Maigurov was supported by 35 delegates, Nuzhdov – by 18. Repeated elections will be held at the end of August.
– What is the semantic load, if our points of view on the management of the organization do not agree one hundred percent? We have traveled a long evolutionary path over these two years in an attempt to bring our positions closer together. In the end, we did not agree on positions of principle. This prompted me to apply,” Nuzhdov told reporters.
Maigurov has been leading the SBR since the summer of 2020.
