As it became known from , 49 people voted for the charter of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) in the new edition at the reporting and election conference, which takes place in Moscow on Thursday, with 4 abstentions.
One of the main changes of the new charter is that the winner of the RRF presidential election will be determined according to the formula 50% + 2 votes, that is, by a simple majority of votes.
The incumbent president claims to be the head of the organization Viktor Maygurov and vice-president of the SBR Alexei Nuzhdov . According to the results of the vote, none of the candidates won 2/3 of the votes, Maigurov was supported by 35 delegates, Nuzhdov – by 18. Repeated elections will be held at the end of August.
Maigurov has been leading the SBR since the summer of 2020.
