Daria Virolainen who changed his sports citizenship from Russian to Finnish, took third place in the mass start of the Estonian Summer Open Biathlon Championship.
At the Otepää competitions, local athlete Tuuli Tomingas won the 10 km distance with a time of 29 minutes 3.5 seconds and four misses. The second was another Estonian Susan Kuelm (+29.4 seconds, 4 misses). Virolainen, 34, made three shooting errors and lost 46.4 seconds to the leader.
The day before, Virolainen was fourth in the sprint. The eldest daughter of three-time Olympic champion Anfisa Reztsova is taking part in competitions for the first time after changing her sporting citizenship.
