According to , the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) will re-elect the president of the organization at an extraordinary conference in late August.
On Thursday, a conference on RBU reports and elections is taking place in Moscow. Incumbent President Viktor Maigurov and RRF Vice President Alexei Nuzhdov claimed the position of head of the organization. According to the results of the vote, none of the candidates won 2/3 of the votes, Maigurov was supported by 35 delegates, Nuzhdov – by 18.
It was then announced that a new election would take place at the end of August. The procedure will take place under the new charter, which will be considered on Thursday.
Maigurov has been leading the SBR since the summer of 2020.
