“At the moment, these issues are not fully resolved.” Biathlete Loginov spoke about the disease last season

Double Olympic medalist Alexander Loginov told that the illness that kept him out of action last season still hasn’t let him go.

Loginov took fifth place in the men’s sprint on Thursday at the first stage of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup, which takes place in Sochi. Last season, the 31-year-old practically did not play due to health problems.

– You said your weight had increased. Was it because of the lack of training?

– If I start training indoors, then I gain muscle mass very quickly. It’s physiology, there is no escape. Clearly it can be controlled, but I didn’t really think about what would happen next.

– Aren’t you afraid that thoughts of completion will reappear?

– No, I am not afraid. I’ve had a long career, so anything can happen. I agree with that.

– Are you making plans?

Until then, I won’t say anything. I live for today. I already know what it’s like when you make plans.

– Last season, you missed starts due to illness. Could you tell what it was?

– There were a lot of problems, fortunately, everything passes slowly. I hope everything will be back to normal. For the moment, these problems are not completely solved. Nevertheless, I can train and even play,” Loginov told .

On Saturday, the Commonwealth Cup will host pursuit races. The broadcast of the men’s departure will begin at 10:35 Moscow time, the women’s – at 13:35 Moscow time. Both races will be broadcast on , as well as the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
