Double Olympic medalist in biathlon Ulyana Nigmatullina said that after resuming her career, she had to remember many moments from her shooting and shooting range work.
Nigmatullina ranked 14th on Saturday in the pursuit race of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup stage. These competitions were the first for the biathlete after a break in her career due to the birth of a child.
— I was very tired after the sprint, recovery is not going as well as before the birth of the child. Many moments from filming are forgotten. Today, for example, we were shooting in the fog, during the race the sun was shining and I forgot a point that needed to be corrected. Little by little I remember that at the Russian Championship I will correct all the mistakes. I still can’t accelerate on the last lap, that was my strong point – now that’s not the case anymore.
— Did you regret having decided to compete from the first start of the season? Maybe we should have had more time to prepare?
— I had planned to do these preparatory and control departures. I expected a worse result, so it’s normal as a control workout. I received positive emotions from the very beginning, and this is the most important thing I need now.
— During the first winter competitions, are you expected to be in the top 5?
— I don’t plan with numbers, rather with tasks for the start.
— How do you manage to reconcile motherhood and training?
– It turns out it’s normal. “Everything is possible with the help of my mother, so it poses no problem for me,” reports the correspondent, according to Nigmatullina.
On Sunday, September 10, races will take place in Sochi with a general start. Live broadcast of the men’s mass start on will begin at 10:35 Moscow time, the women’s race at 1:35 p.m. You can also watch competitions on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
