Earlier on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a plenary meeting at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, said that when it comes to participating in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, one must be guided by the interests of the athletes themselves.

To be honest, I wouldn’t like the Olympics now, I’m not in the same mood. It was important for me to come there for the country, for my parents, for my child. It is difficult in the current situation; for my part, I would never play. I cannot agree with the fact that we absolutely have to go to the Olympics,” Zhurova told .
At the end of March, the IOC announced recommendations for the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions. Recommendations include individual admission, neutral status, banning participation in team sports, and banning participation of athletes associated with security forces or who have expressed support for the SVO. The IOC did not extend an invitation to the ROC for the 2024 Games by the set date of July 26.
The Olympic Games in the French capital will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
