Olympic medalist in biathlon Christina Reztsova told how she combines her training and competition schedule with raising two children.
Reztsova gave birth to her second child in March and the 27-year-old athlete will start the sprint race on Saturday as part of the Alfa-Bank Russian Championship.
“I’m not counting on anything, I didn’t intend to race here (in Tyumen) at all. When we built a training plan with the coaches, there was a 98% chance that I would not start the summer season at all, since I started training in August.
I like the atmosphere, I miss the competitions. I love watching them on TV, and then I’ll watch myself at the same time. It’s interesting to see what I look like.
— How to manage two children and a training program at the same time?
— Grandparents travel with us, they take care, you could say, of our children.
— Natalya Gerbulova told me that your eldest daughter is very intelligent.
— Our grandmother always tries in the sense that my daughter notices things that even I wouldn’t notice. She has a phenomenal memory and sings songs that we play in the car. She’s really cool, I love my kids.
—Is she like you in her ability to have fun and sing songs?
– Yes. She is incredible to me. There is also more mischief in me than in dad, and she is smarter, more like dad than in me (laughs), Reztsova said on .
