Double biathlon world champion Julie Simon said she will most likely start training with the main squad of the French team in October.
In July, reports emerged that Simon was suspected of bank card fraud. One of the complaints against Simone was filed by a member of the French biathlon team headquarters, the second by Olympic champion Justine Brezaz-Boucher. Brezaz-Boucher’s lawsuit says Simone used her credit card during the Blink biathlon festival and made purchases worth between one thousand and two thousand euros. Brezaz-Boucher filed a complaint with the French Ski Federation. A disciplinary hearing was held in early June, during which Simone presented her version of events and denied all allegations.
— Most likely, I will return in October. I do the same work at home, but I can’t wait to compare myself (with other biathletes), watch the shooting speed and see all the things you miss when training alone. And also to see what stage I am at, because I don’t have any guidelines.
I don’t think I lost my level during the season. It takes time to come back. When you train alone, you lose the rhythm a little,” says Simon quoting Ski Chrono.
Simone is the 2022 Olympic mixed relay silver medalist and last season’s overall World Cup winner.
