“I enjoy every moment when I am with my children.” Interview with Kristina Reztsova

On Sunday Kristina Reztsová As a member of the KhMAO-Yugra team, she took second place in the women’s relay at the Alfa-Bank Russian Summer Biathlon Championship, which is held in Tyumen. Gold went to the team from the Sverdlovsk region. A day earlier, Christina finished 22nd in the sprint.

Reztsova missed the entire previous season due to pregnancy. In March, another daughter was born in Christina’s family. Last weekend’s competitions were the 27-year-old’s first after a long break.

In an interview with , Reztsova explained why she decided to run two races in a row, remembered how her second pregnancy went and explained why she does not strive to join the national team for a centralized drive.

— How do you rate your result in the relay race?

— I can call it predictable. I have a reasonable assessment of my strength, because I’ve only been training for a month and a half, and I know that right now I’m not in the shape to really fight with the girls. That is, I completely understand that the girls are strong and they have not finished training at all, but I missed a lot, with this pregnancy I trained a little less and came back So much later. So this is in principle the expected result, at least currently.

I think I had two good races. I have worked, I have worked and I will continue to systematically prepare for winter.

— How did you decide to run two races at once after such a long break?

“Actually, I didn’t plan to run away – I realized that I didn’t have enough strength to fight.” But then I thought the best training was competition. I decided to go for the sprint, and whatever happens, it will be that way. And in principle, I shouldn’t have made it to the first team [ХМАО-Югра 1]I was put there by coaching decision, because in the sprint I was fifth in our team.

But since there were eight of us, I understood that if I didn’t run, the second team wouldn’t start. I said I was ready to run for the second team, but the coaches decided to put me in the first. Naturally, I never give up and I always fight with all my strength, no matter how hard and bad it is for me, and I gave it my all. I think I played up to my preparation at the moment.

— You became a mother for the second time this spring. How has your life changed?

— Now I have double happiness (smiles). It’s true, I love every moment I’m with my kids. Naturally, now there is even less time to be with them, because the training schedule is quite busy.

I love my family, I love the people who help me, I love my daughters – they bring me happiness and strength to go and practice. Even though I haven’t slept half the night, I know why I’m doing this. And when I come home from practice, I know both girls will always smile at me – they’re great.

— Has it become more difficult to reconcile the role of mother and that of an athlete?

“Now it is mentally easier than with my first daughter, because now I already know that we have to separate sport and family, and I am calm about the fact that I have to go train and leave them with my grandparents. It became a little easier in this regard, but physically it became more difficult (smiles).

— What are your plans to prepare for the winter season? Are you currently preparing with the region?

– Yes, I am preparing at the expense of Khanty-Mansiysk, they support me in everything, and for this I am very grateful to them.

Then I continue to work according to my plan, now I will organize a small training camp in Syktyvkar and then I will return to Seminsky Pass. If the snow falls, it will be the start of the ride; otherwise, it will probably be roller skates. But I plan to start skating there and then I will come here, to Tyumen, for the main skating session. That’s it, let’s go to the competitions.

— Is your goal to join the national team for centralized training?

– Absolutely not. I’m probably already past the age where I only want to train with the national team. Now I want to train with my team, I have a very big support team, and they make me stronger, and that’s the most important thing for me now. So, at the moment, even if they offered me, I’m not ready to leave the kids and train with the national team.

— Previously, you trained according to Noritsyn’s plans. Do you still work with him now?

– Yes, everything is the same. Vitaly Viktorovich writes a plan, we are in constant contact, he adjusts my work depending on how I feel or how tired I am. We work closely together, nothing has changed.

— The last time you competed was a year ago, at the Russian Summer Championship in Tchaikovsky. Have you noticed any changes in Russian biathlon this year?

— Firstly, there were a lot of fans at Tchaikovsky’s house. Here, because of the reconstruction, it is smaller, but you can still feel the atmosphere.

As for how I changed, I don’t even know… Then again, I wasn’t particularly in good shape, because I was already pregnant, and I had also been sick for a month, that’s- i.e. I also cannot evaluate my rivals based on the state of yesterday and today. Therefore, we will wait for winter and see how much our Russian biathlon has grown (smiles).

— Did you follow the Russian competitions last season?

— Yes, I watched a lot of starts. When I wasn’t sleeping, I watched him (laughs). Plus, I sat with my older daughter and tried to watch as much as possible. But I really missed racing, so yes, I was worried about the girls.

— Did any of the Russian biathletes surprise you?

“To be honest, I don’t even remember my emotions at that moment. » It seems to me that after a year, everyone in the arena is the same. That is, the girls are growing up, but so far they are not so bright and catchy.

— Nigmatullina said in an interview that pregnancy was not very easy – there were hormones and tears. How was this period for you?

— I didn’t have toxicosis during my first pregnancy or my second. The only problem was that the second pregnancy was a little harder physically and I finished training early. It was hard for me, probably already from the seventh month, plus I was sick at the beginning of the pregnancy… In general, the second was harder. And coming back afterwards, therefore, is also difficult at the moment.

— Before the relay, it became known that you were preparing without a rifle for the Russian summer championship in Tyumen. What happened?

— I was preparing with my rifle, everything was fine, but it so happened that literally two weeks before the Russian Championship my butt cracked and I had to send it to be sealed and finished. They just sent me my Olympic box here, so I started, let’s say, with a clean slate (smiles). I haven’t toured with it in two years, but I just wanted to run and work.

Anyone who knows how to shoot can do it with anything. Besides, it’s mine, I shot with it – and I shot well. And now all I had to do was configure it, that’s all.

All Russian Championship races are broadcast live on the channel and broadcasts are also available on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
