Coach of the Russian national biathlon team Yuri Kaminsky called Edward Latypov prepare for the 2026 Olympic Games, which will be held in Milan (Italy).
Russian and Belarusian biathletes were suspended from competitions under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) last season. In March, the IOC Executive Committee recommended to international federations, if Russians are admitted to competitions, to do so individually, in a neutral status, without participating in team events, and also to exclude the participation of athletes associated with law enforcement.
— What motivation are you creating now for the same Latypov?
— 2026. Milan Olympic Games.
— And honestly, do you believe in the reality of the performances of Russian athletes at these Games?
“Now they say they are slowly starting to let us in somewhere.” It is clear that no one can predict how the situation will develop. But in all cases there must be a goal. And I hope… He will die last,” Kaminsky told RT.
